創作経緯 Background of Creation	昭和48年(1973年）9月、16歳の少年が構想6カ月、作曲3カ月で完成させたピアノ協奏曲がとある都内の高校で初演された。人々にその眞の姿を再び見せるためには40年以上の歳月を待たなければならななかった。当作品について創作者は音大作曲科教授の助言を受け、若干の副旋律を追加している。実際の演奏では、吹奏楽器により、ピアノの音が消されてしまうので、演奏当日ピアノの音はマイクで拡大された。 A brand new piano concerto was performed first in a high school in Tokyo in September 1973, which a sixteen year old boy schemed for 6 months and wrote down for 3 months. It took more than 40 years to show its real sound to people again. Takehiko Sueoka added some sub-melody accepting the advise from the composition professor of a music collage. In the real performance, the sound of piano was amplified by microphone as the sound of piano was too weak against that of brass band.
楽曲構成 Structure of Music	様々なテーマが交錯するが、分析すると、類似のモチーフによる組合わせである事が分かる。第一楽章では和声は簡素でロマン派と印象派の影響を受けている。ピアノソロで始まる第一テーマを転調も無しで13回繰り返す。吹奏楽による豪華なファンファーレもある。第二楽章では、独自のモードによるピアノトリオの即興的な演奏があり、吹奏楽器も最終的に参加し、ピアノによるカデンツアと第一楽章の冒頭のテーマを使ったフィナーレで終わる。吹奏楽器のパートについてはこの曲がコンサートの最後に演奏される事もあり、当時の団員の実力も考慮しつつ、出来るだけ簡単に、且つ、どこかで聞かせどころがあるように創作されたが、木管楽器によるロングトーンの様に初心者には安定的な演奏が難しい部分もある。 There looks like so many themes in this concerto. However, if you analyze these themes, you can find out each themes are made from similar motifs. In first movement, harmony is simple and influenced from Romanticism and Impressionism. First theme started by piano solo is repeated 13 times with no key change. Gorgeous fanfare by brass band is included. In second movement, Piano Trio play improvisation in the beginning with original mode Takehiko Sueoka created, then instrumentals of brass band join in, Solo piano plays Cadenza, and all the instrumentals play finale using the theme at the top of first movement. Takehiko Sueoka tried to create music as easy as possible for brass band section and also made a moving part for even each instrumental considering the ability of each Brass Band member and that this music is played last in the concert. But there remains some difficult parts to play stably like long tone by woodwinds.
楽曲イメージ Story of Music	インドのウパニシャッド哲学への憧れから創作された。第一楽章は「我」による喜怒哀楽、第二楽章はそこから修業して漸く「悟」り、「梵」になるプロセスを描く。既に創作から40年以上を経ており、戦前・戦中・戦後の昭和時代のタイムカプセル的な響きもある。 This work is created from adore to Upanishad in ancient India. Takehiko Sueoka tried to express human emotions (joy, anger, pathos, and humor) by Atman in first movement and process to become Brahman by mastering the way and awaking spiritually in second movement. More than 40 years have passed since this work was created. This keeps atmosphere of before, during and after the WW2 of Showa era of Japan like a time capsule.
