譚詩曲(バラード)は初めて器楽に取り入れたフレデリック・ショパンを継承したものである。ショパンは3拍子系で譚詩からヒントを得て創作したが、末岡は自由な形式で創作される音楽のうち、ブルース・ジャズ・プログレッシブ・テクノなど、20世紀ポピュラー音楽の成果を取り入れたリズムと即興性を重視したものを即興曲（インプロヴィゼーション）とし、物語性のあるよりクラシカルな作品を譚詩曲（バラード）とした。譚詩曲第三番では日本の伝統美を強調しつつも両者を融合した作品に仕立て上げている。 Takehiko Sueoka succeeded a style of Ballade from Frederic Chopin who started that as an instrumental music. Chopin created this style of music inspired from epic poetry with triple time rhythm type. On the other hand, Sueoka divided his free style music into Improvisation where he was influenced from achievement of popular music of 20th century, like Blues, Jazz, Progressive and Techno and applied their rhythm and ad-lib with Ballade where he was influenced from classical music that has a story writing atmosphere. He has unified both styles of music in Ballade No. 3 including Japanese beauty. |
